NABL Accredited State Reference Laboratory (SRL) for HIV Testing was established under National AIDS Control Organization (NACO).

The State Reference Laboratory in the Department is actively involved in organizing EQAS (External Quality Assessment Programme, Training of technicians of ICTC/PPTCT and HIV sentinel surveillance programme under NACO.

SRL caters Quality assessment and training for 31 ICTCs and 10 Blood Banks located in Vijayapur and Bagalkot districts.

HIV Sentinel Surveillance Programme, tested 6000 samples received from the designated collection centres.

Viral load testing laboratory for HIV under National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) was established in 2018.

Serves around 40,000 on-ART patients of Bijapur, Bagalkot, Kalaburgi and Bidar districts.
