Overview
Department of Biochemistry is a scholarly basic science department that is actively involved in research, teaching -training and Clinical Service .
The department offers MBBS (1986), M.Sc. (Medical Biochemistry-2010) MD (Biochemistry-2011) and PhD (Medical Biochemistry-2010) courses. To keep these at the highest levels of academia and the profession, constant effort is made. The Department also caters BSc nursing, post-basic BSc nursing, and several allied health science courses (UG & PG), Value added Courses.

Department of Biochemistry
In order to help students understand the importance of biochemistry in their disciplines and be able to apply this knowledge in their future career as health care professionals, the department constantly innovates in order to teach these courses as effectively as possible. Providing students with academic support and nurturing during their course is a crucial component of the teaching program. Well-equipped state of the art Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory is an integral component of the Department providing patient care. Research is the core element of Biochemistry. Area of Research work focuses mainly challenging medical conditions. The purpose of the research projects is to intervene & aid clinical progress.This has resulted in the quality publications of original articles, Book chapters and book publications by the department with high impact.
