The CME on soft embalming was held on 21-10-2022 at 9.30am in Medical education unit hall. The meeting started with welcome speech by Dr Veena S Harwalkar, Assistant professor in anatomy and CME ‘Joint secretary’. The Inaugural function was witnessed by Dr Aravind V Patil Principal, Dean faculty of medicine, Dr Manjunath Kotennavar Professor Dept of Surgery, the guest of honour. Resource person and special Invite Dr Sanjeev Kolagi, Professor & HOD Dept of Anatomy, S N Medical college, Bagalkot and special invite Dr B M Bannur Ex Professor & HOD dept of anatomy BLDEDU’s Shri B M Patil Medical college, and presided. by Dr R S Bulagouda Prof & HOD Dept of Anatomy BLDEDU’s Shri B M Patil Medical college E-lamping of lights was done by the dignitaries on the dias.
Dr Manjunath Kotennavar gave the Inaugural speech.
Dr R S Bulagouda gave the presidential remarks.
The inauguration ended with vote of thanks by Dr Ashwini B Nuchhi ,Associate professor dept of anatomy. The Scientific sessions started at 10.30am. Dr Girish Kullolli, Professor of Surgery BLDEDU’s Shri B M Patil Medical College, chaired the 2 sessions.
- ‘Past of embalming’ by Dr Sandhya V Yatagiri, Associate Professor BLDEDU’s Shri B M Patil Medical College, Vijayapura.
- ‘Present and future of embalming‘ by Dr Sanjeev Kolagi, Professor Dept of Anatomy S N Medical College, Bagalkot.
The Chairperson was thanked and ended the session.
Dr Lathadevi H T Professor and Head of Dept of ENT chaired the 3rd and 4th scientific sessions.
- ‘Infrastructure and Instrumentation in establishment of cadaver lab’ by Dr Manjula Patil, Professor Dept of Anatomy S N Medical college, Bagalkot.
- ‘Handling of soft embalmed cadaver’ by Dr Sangamesh Rakaraddi, Assistant Professor dept of Anatomy S N Medical college, Bagalkot.
The sessions ended with thanking the chairperson. Discussion on the topics were done. 65 delegates participated in CME. The CME ended with vote of thanks by Dr B S Patil, Assistant Professor BLDEDU’s Shri B M Patil Medical College, Vijayapura.
Celebrated on 18-10-2023
Department of anatomy organized the following events to celebrate the world anatomy day.
1. Essay writing competition was held on 17-10-2023 in anatomy gallery hall between 11.30am to 12.30pm.
The topic was “How cadaver made me different’. The competition was held for all the undergraduate students, Post graduate students, and the faculty members of BLDE DU.
There were totally 18 participants
The competition was judged by Dr Manjunath Aithal Professor of Physiology department BLDE DU.
1st prize was won by Miss Pariksha 19BM0072. 2nd prize won by Miss Apeksha Balaganur 23BM0022 and 3rd prize won by Miss Prajakta Bhasme 22BM0038.
2. Competition for the MBBS phase 1st 2023-24 batch students was held in the Anatomy department in the form of Nukkad Natak.
Topic To create public awareness for body donation. It was held on 17-10-2023 between 3pm to 5pm in anatomy department Dr Satish Nadvenmani HOD Dept. of Architecture BLDEA’s Dr P G Halakatti college of Engineering and Technology, Vijayapura judged the competition.
The competition included 5 groups of students. The performance was done in 2 languages Kannada and Hindi Kannada group included ‘Kaveri’ group, team led by Miss Bhavana and Krishna’ group, team led by Mr Ankit L V Hindi groups ‘Ganga’ team led by Miss Singdha Astunkar ‘Yamuna’ team led by Miss Prajakta S A and ‘Saraswati’ team led by Miss Nandani M
The first prize was won by Ganga group .The second prize was won by Yamuna group and third prize was won by ‘Kaveri’ group.
3. On 18-10-2023, we conducted Nukkad Natak / street play at the following 5 places to create public awareness about the importance of ‘Body donation’ prior permission was obtained from the authorities concerned in diffferent places. 5 groups were made 3 groups performed in Hindi and 2groups in Kannada.
1. The first event was held in front of BLDEDU Hospital. It was started at 9.30am with initial formal Inauguration. Kaveri group performed the street play here in Kannada language.
2. At 10.30.am the students were taken in front of Siddeshwar Temple. Here Yamuna group performed the street play in Hindi language
3. At 12.00pm the nukkad Natak was performed in Gandhi Chowk by ‘Krishna’ group in Kannada language.
4. At 1.00 pm the street play was performed in Bus stand by Saraswati group in Hindi language.
5. At 2.30pm the Ganga group performed the street play in Hindi language in railway station. The event ended with vote of thanks By Dr R S Bulagouda Prof & HOD dept. of Anatomy
