The Department of Paediatrics, Shri B. M. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, BLDE (Deemed to be University), in association with the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP), Vijayapura, successfully organized a Basic Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) on 10th May 2026 at the Skill Lab, BLDE (DU), Vijayapura. Held from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the program was designed to strengthen neonatal resuscitation skills among healthcare professionals and reinforce best practices in newborn care.
As a premier tertiary care teaching institution, BLDE (DU) remains committed to enhancing neonatal healthcare through competency-based training and continuous medical education. The workshop focused on equipping participants with evidence-based knowledge and practical skills essential for timely and effective neonatal resuscitation, thereby contributing to improved newborn survival and better clinical outcomes.
The program featured expert-led scientific sessions followed by structured hands-on skill stations, where participants gained practical experience in neonatal resuscitation techniques based on the latest national and international guidelines. Special emphasis was placed on early recognition, prompt intervention, effective teamwork, and standardized delivery room protocols to ensure quality care for newborns requiring resuscitation.
The workshop witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 45 delegates, including postgraduate students and nursing professionals, making it a valuable platform for collaborative learning and clinical skill enhancement.
The successful conduct of the program reflects the Department of Paediatrics’ continued dedication to academic excellence, professional development, and improving neonatal healthcare services through quality training initiatives.
