Activities
Being affiliate institute of Deemed to be university, Department of Pharmacology is involved in research activities of the university. Clinical trials represented prefect clinical research as it fulfills all the requirement and principles of clinical research. Training in GCP is essential for all the investigators involved in clinical trials. Good Clinical Practice (GCP) is in the ethical and scientific standard for the conduct and reporting of clinical trials involving human participants. As GCP is focused on the protection of the rights, integrity and confidential of clinical trial participants and accuracy and scientific integrity of data collected during trials and reported in the results, GCP training is mandatory for investigators involved in clinical trials. Department of pharmacology organizes regularly GCP workshops for all investigators.
In order to provide UG/PG students, Ph. D scholars with alternative prospective, opinions and personal experiences reinforcing the learning pharmacology, Department of Pharmacology organizes Guest Lectures an regular basis.
It has been helping the students to get the clear understanding of the subject.
Pharmacovigilance is the science of activities relating to the detection, assessment , understanding and prevention of adverse effects related to drugs. Pharmacology Departments of BLDE(DU) Shri.B.M Patil Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Vijayapura is actively involved in implementation of PVPI. In addition to day to day reporting of ARDs department celebrates “National Pharmacovigilance “ week from 17th sept to 23rd sept. every year since 2021. Various activities for boosting public confidence in Pharmacovigilance were organized this year.
Department of pharmacology is actively involved in activities of International federation of Red Cross focusing on promoting humanitarian values, disaster response, disaster preparedness, and health and community care.
In order to highlight that the protection and health of environment is major issue , which affects the well being of people and economic development throughout the world and to remind people to save nature and the earth by stopping their non – environmentally friendly activities, World environment day is celebrated on June 5 every year In BLDE (DU) , Vijayapura Department of pharmacology is actively involved in world environment day celebration activities.
Pharmacology QUIZ a competency based learning tool. It has been found to be refreshing way of implementing competency based exercise in pharmacology.
Department of pharmacology has implemented objective structure practical examination (OSPE) in under graduate practical Pharmacology.
It is objective, comprehensive and not focusing on cognitive and subjective domains.
