Overview

Department started in year 1986 with 150 U G Admissions. Post graduate course is started in the year 1996 with 2 admissions per year, presently 4 PG seats per year.

The PG and UG degrees are recognized by NMC, Dept. also have certificate courses like, embalming technique, clinical anatomy, museum technique and surgical anatomy. Ph.D courses started in the year 2010 with intake of 2 suduents per year. Genetics Lab started in the year 2016 and MoU with KIDNAR, Dharwad. Cadaver Lab started in the year 2017 now we are doing soft embalming of cadavers. Allied health sciences started in the year 2020. Now department is having virtual dissection table, Digiborad for Histology demonstration. From 2022 UG Seats enhanced to 200 seats.

Department aims to be an internationally leading center for Teaching and Research in field of Anatomy. To provide an intellectual environment for excellent research and high quality of teaching for U.G, P.G-Medical and Allied Health sciences and Ph.D.

To develop and promote knowledge in the field of Anatomy including research in Gross Anatomy, Embryology, Histology & Medical Education. To adopt global concept of Anatomy to prepare the students for academic pursuits & to be responsible global citizens.

Ph.D. Highlights 11 Ph.D. scholars have completed their PhD and been awarded. 7 Ph.D. scholars are currently registered for a Ph.D. in Genetics and Anatomy.
