International Day Of Action For Women’s Health

On the occasion of International Day Of Action For Women’s Health, the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology in collaboration with the Centre for Yoga and Exercise Science, Department of Physiology, and BOGS Society Vijayapura executed the program “Yogadeepthi The Art of Refined Living,” on 28th May 2024, in the library auditorium for the Teaching, Non-teaching Staff members and PG students of BLDE(Deemed to be University).

The Chief Guests of the program were

1.   Dr. Sumangala Patil, Vice-Principal (Pre-Para) Professor, Department of Physiology.


2.   Dr. Tejasswini Vallabha, Professor Department of Surgery.


The conveners of the program were

1.   Dr. S. R. Bidri, Prof. & HOD, Department of OBG and President of BOGS Society.

2.   Dr. Lata Mullur, Prof.  & HOD, Department of Physiology.

 The program was coordinated by

1.   Dr. Rajasri Yaliwal, Professor, Dept. of OBG.

2.   Dr. Jyoti Khoonapur, Assoc Professor, Dept. of Physiology, Center of Yoga and Exercise Science.

3.   Dr. Soumya S. Patil, Senior Resident, Dept. of OBG.

Dr. Soumya S. Patil cordially welcomed all the dignitaries, Invitees, and students with a welcome speech. The invocation was by Dr. Rakshita Raghavendra. The dignitaries lighted the lamp and the Preamble was addressed by Dr. Jyoti Khoonapur to create awareness about the importance of yoga for women's health and wellbeing. Dr. Tejasswini Vallabha addressed the gathering on the benefits of performing Yoga daily correlating the theme of the program. Then the yoga teacher and the students demonstrated the Warm-up exercises followed by Asanas. The participants followed the same instructions and performed the Asanas. The participants felt refreshed by performing Asanas and they were advised to follow the exercises henceforth at their home and imbibe yoga in their routine lifestyle. Dr. Soumya S. Patil proposed the Vote of thanks and concluded the program. The program was appreciated by all participants and E-certificates are provided to them.
